Yamato's Mom (English): Nancy Takaishi   Yamato's Mom (Japanese): Takaishi, Natsuko

Generic Profile: Nancy is Yamato and Takeru's biological mother. She raises Takeru throughout both seasons and seems to have a disconnected relationship with her ex-husband and eldest son.

My Biased Thoughts: I never liked Nancy much, and I find alot of people overlook her as a workable fanfic character. In most of my fics she is the abusive one as opposed to Yamato's father.

Yamato's Dad (English): Malcolm Ishida  Yamato's Dad (Japanese): Ishida, Hiroaki

Generic Profile: The boys' Dad plays a large role in the Myotismon arc of the first season and helps the kids on numerous occasions. He works at the TV Station that Myotismon attacks (and ironically, is destroyed with). In Season Two he also shows up a few times to give more insight to Yamato's life at home, but it's more or less how you would imagine it.

My Biased Thoughts: I hate the fact that Yamato's Dad being a complete jackass has become rather clichéd throughout most fics, as has a lot of things regarding Yamato and his home/personality. Throughout the series it is apparent that he cares for his two sons very much, but most likely because of his single-parent status he seems to be your regular abusive drunken stereotype.

Yamato's Siblings (English): T.K. Takaishi (In the third episode he is mentioned to be Yamato's "half brother". This is obviously incorrect and was later corrected during the Myotismon arc.) Yamato's Siblings (Japanese): Takaishi, Takeru

Generic Profile: In Adventure, Takeru seems to be a very happy child with an older brother that truly cares about him. He and Yamato are quite close, probably because of them being split up in the divorce. During the end of the season Takeru picks the perfect time for a growing-up crisis and tells Yamato that he can take care of himself. Takeru has little characterization in the first season aside those few episodes, but in Zero Two he is more grown up and has taken in the knowledge from his previous adventures. I think he even shows a little bit of Yamato sometimes, but this may have been only to parelell the Goggle Boy / Blonde scenario.

My Biased Thoughts: I loved Takeru is season one because he really symbolized the innocent child and had a definite change by the end of the season (not that anyone else hadn't). He's just cute and adorable. In Season Two, though, I liked him alot less, probably for the fact that the HikarixTakeru was overdone and that Takeru had that really long emo set up about Angemon's death that wasn't really made apparent in the first season as a continually troubling issue. He's not a bad character, but he wasn't great, either. He was your typical prince saves princess type.
